As adults we often find ourselves reflecting over the things we did, said, or didn’t do or didn’t say. We have many regrets and wish wholeheartedly that we could go back in time and do so many things over. Spending too much time on these thoughts are not healthy emotionally. You can open up the door to depression and a feeling of defeat if you are not careful. Reflect only if you are trying to grow from something not with the desire to reverse time.
None of us can back, God didn’t design life that way. We must look ahead and treat the learned lessons in life as a tool to pave the way down the correct path in life. If you keep looking back you can’t move ahead because you will keep stumbling over memories, regrets, and feelings that have no place in the present. But if you look ahead you can stay in a positive state full of hope of the newness that lies within each day.
Things in the past should be left in the past. For what ever reason they were allowed to happen to help mold you into the person you are today and the person you desire and will be tomorrow. If you do look back find the positive in it and thank God that you are now on the other side of the situation. Move ahead into your promised land and never take your eyes off of God. That way you are sure to stay on the right path. Looking back won’t get you anywhere it will only trip you up. Press forward, hold your head up and keep moving ahead.
