If you were asked to describe yourself would you use the word overcomer as one of your attributes? Well, this is a trait that each of us have. We must begin to see ourselves as overcomers so that we can overcome the tricks of the enemy. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary overcome means to:
: to defeat (someone or something)
: to successfully deal with or gain control of (something difficult)
: to affect (someone) very strongly or severely
God created us to be overcomers. There are a litany of scriptures that reveal to us that we have overcome if we are in God. That means we are able and expected to defeat things that are not of God. We can successfully deal with what ever the enemy throws at us and we can gain control of our thoughts, words and actions. Because we are overcomers we can strongly affect those in the world if we are allowing God to use us.
We need to look at challenges as a chance to exercise our ability to be able to overcome the challenges in this life. God has fully equipped us to be overcomers. Therefore, we are overcomers. We will defeat the enemy and our just reward will be given to us by our Father in Heaven. Be encouraged today. You are a overcomer!
1 John 4:4
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
1 John 5:4 – For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.
`He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’
