Today more than ever fitness is highlighted. Being healthy and fit is even at the forefront of schools with the Get Moving program started by First Lady Michelle Obama. There are also tons of other programs that have been developed and implemented to beat childhood obesity. One such program can be found by visiting Vi.com. It is great that so many people are thinking of their health now. However, We must be conscious of our spiritual health as well.
Are you working out spiritually? Are you taking the time to start each day with reading the bible and talking to God and exercising our faith for the sake of our spirit man? We must be healthy from the inside out and that means starting with our heart and minds on a spiritual level. If we are spiritually fit we will have the strength and devotion to be physically fit consistently. Besides if we are spiritually fit we will be able to stay in good health because we will have exercised our hearts and minds to stay on God’s word which tells us we are in perfect health.
In the bible Sampson was physically fit. However, his spiritual fitness was the key to his physical abilities. Because of Sampson’s faith and relationship with God he regained his strength even after he had disobeyed God. God still heard his one last prayer and Sampson’s strength returned right before he died. The key here is that without Sampson’s spiritual fitness he would not have been physically fit.
My point is simply please don’t neglect exercising your spirit along with your body.
