Why Did Jesus Come?

Today at my Greensboro, NC church, Daystar, the pastor asked the question if we knew why Jesus came? I had to really stop and think about all of the reasons He came. My first thought was so I could have everlasting life and be forgiven of my multitude of sins. I didn’t think past this. Jesus also said in His word that He was going to prepare a place for us so that where He is we may be also.

Therefore, there are some things I must do to prepare for this place. I first must do what God created me to do, which is to lead others to Christ. I also must follow His word so that my soul is right for such a place that He has prepared.

These thoughts then lead me to thinking about that place. In Revelations we learn of the new heaven and earth. What a mighty God we serve. He has put so much thought into us and making a great place of love and peace for us.

Do you know why Jesus came? What are your thoughts on the new heave and earth? Are you using this time that God is giving unto you to truly be what He has created you to be and are you preparing yours sould for the promised land? Why did Jesus come?

Revelation 21

New International Version (NIV)

A New Heaven and a New Earth

21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Be Encouraged

Another work week has come to an end. You believed with all your might that your break through was coming and yet it is Saturday night and you are still waiting on that phone call, that email, that letter in the mail, that specific sign from God. Trust me that God’s time is not our time and if you faint not your reward will surely manifest. For no promise of God can fail to be fulfilled-Luke 1:37

But you’ll arise with a freshness of heart, and you’ll realize then thata the Spirit of God is not going to depart. But He will sustain you and keep you by His power because you’re about to enter into your finest hour, the finest hour to worship the King, the finest hour to overcome, the finest hour because the victory is already won-Buddy Harrison

Remember true faith is believing in the impossibly invisible desires of your heart and passions instilled in you by God himself. Go with a renewed strength into next week knowing that God will fulfill His promises to you.

God Watches Over You and Me

I am so glad that God watches over me and that he is my keeper. There is one thing that I know is that if we want to be kept and if we truly want a way of escape from a sin that seems to have a hold on us that God will surely make a way. I am so thankful that God has his eyes on me at all times. I know that in His arms I am safe and that He truly loves me to the point that He never lets me out of his sight. Below are several scriptures that prove that God watches over us at all times.
Psalm 121:5

New International Version
The LORD watches over you– the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

New Living Translation
The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.

English Standard Version
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand.

New American Standard Bible
The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand.

King James Bible
The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

No matter what you are going through just know that God is watching over you, therefore He is watching out for you and everything will work out for your good.

Power that lies within You

We must acknowledge the power that we have been given by our Father. He has given us power over serpents and scorpions. We don’t have any reason to walk around in defeat. We are victorious and we are warriors.

You do not have the spirit of a quitter living inside you; you have the spirit of the only man in history to conquer death. You have the spirit of a winner-the spirit of Jesus Christ inside you.-Rod Parsley

You must find the scriptures and read them daily that tells you how victorious you are and that tells you your rights as an heir of God. Find scriptures that help you find the inner strength that lies within you to be all that you were created to be.

Remember in God’s eyes you are already what you were created to be even though you can’t see it in yourself with your natural eye at this very moment. Prayer, patience, and faith will get you there.

The greatest power that God has given to any individual is the power of prayer-Kathryn Kuhlman

When you pray, believe and pray in the name of Jesus without any doubt and the powers that are within you will be birthed and blessings and promises will be manifested on a daily basis. Your blessings will chase you down and overtake you. You will be a giver and not a lender or borrower. The spirit of the living God will be magnified within you at all times and the light of God will keep your path lit. Know the power that lies within you and through the word of our living Father allow that power to come forth and make a difference in your life and the lives of others.

The Living Word-Smith Wigglesworth on Faith

I love Smith Wigglesworth’s books. He was a phenominal minister, man of faith and writer. This is what he had to say about the Living Word

God’s Word is:
Supernatural in origin
Eternal in duration
inexpressible in valor
Infinite in scope
Regenerative in power
Infallible in authority
Universal in application
Inspired in totality

Thus, we should:
Read it through.
Write it down.
Pray it in.
Work it out.
Pass it on.

The word is life, it is transforming and it will never return to God void. If we could get it in our hearts just how real God’s word is and how much power is in His word and that power was passed on to us. We have to believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is real and what He has promised us is more real than what we see, touch, feel on a daily basis.

In chapter 15 of his book here is what he wrote:
In Romans 4:16 we read, “It is faith that it might be according to grace”, meaning that we can open the door, and God will come in. It will happen if we really open the door by faith? It is greater than our thoughts. He puts it to us, exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). When we ask a lot, God says more.” Are we ready for the “more”? And then the much more”? We must be, or we will miss it.

God can so thrill us with new life that nothing ordinary or small will satisfy us after that. There is a great place for us in God where we won’t be satisfied with small things.

Revival Time! 40 Days of Revival! Join Me

When I was little I remember how exciting it was to hold a revival. I remember the energy that was in the air at church for both Fall and Spring revivals. It was a time when people poured in to get renewed strength in God and to grab a new hold onto God’s promises. It was a time to start over in Christ. Many were baptized during the revivals and of course many were healed during the services. I am in a state where I need a revival. A new start to becoming a better me. Eating healthy, exercising, seeking God more and being humble and true to myself and to my God.

Merriam Webster defines revival as
1

: an act or instance of reviving : the state of being revived: as

a: renewed attention to or interest in something

b: a new presentation or publication of something old

c (1): a period of renewed religious interest (2): an often highly emotional evangelistic meeting or series of meetings

2

: restoration of force, validity, or effect (as to a contract)

At the end of my 40 day revival I am expecting a restoration of force. I am expecting a new me. I can’t wait. Don’t you want to be revived? Please join me for 40 days of revival. Each day I am meditating and focusing on God’s words and His promises to me. I am asking Him to lead me to bless others and to show love at all times. I am limiting my meat intake, cutting out sugar, and increasing my water intake to at least 67.6 ounces a day. I will give God the glory daily and continue to start each day in prayer and seeking guidance in all things from God.

Revival Time! Won’t you join me?
