One of the hardest things to do is to walk in forgiveness. It is especially hard to forgive yourself for mistakes or decisions that ended up being such a huge regret. Walking around with forgiveness steals your joy, your peace, your health and your freedom. When you are truly heart by others it is easy to hold on to those emotions and memories. We must learn how to let things go and to look at things from a lens of ownership. What was our role in the entire situation? Was it a hurt that was caused because someone we trusted didn’t do something that we desired that person to do? We know full well that we have no control over the actions of others. Therefore, is it all that other person’s fault that we are hurt? Or did we play a part in it?
Forgiving others will set you free. Don’t allow forgiveness to keep you in bondage or stifle your growth. Jesus came and forgave us for all of our sins. He knew how many sins we would have over our lifetime, yet He still forgave us. Because of His limitless grace and mercy we are forgiven by Him daily. Therefore, we should be ready and willing to forgive those who do us wrong or hurt us.
Never forget that FORGIVENESS is FREEDOM!
