Inspiration to add life to your day and days to your life

Christ In Your Storm

In the bible we learn of a few storms. There was once when Jonah was trying not to do what God had assigned him to do. In running from his calling he got aboard a boat. While on the boat a terrible storm came up and Jonah knew it was because he was on the boat. He was thrown over board and swallowed by a whale. When the whale released him he did what God told him to do. Jonah knew that God was in his storm. He knew that he could no longer run from what God created him to do.

There is another story in the bible when Jesus was on a boat and a terrible storm came up. The boat was taking on water and those on the boat feared their life. Jesus was sleeping peacefully on the boat. One of the disciples on the boat woke Jesus up to tell him of the storm. Jesus’ response was “ye of little faith”. He spoke to the storm and there was peace.

In both these situations God was in the midst. He is always right there in our storms. Even when we don’t see Him or feel Him He is there. He speaks to our storms when He knows we can’t take it anymore. He speaks to our situations and turn them around at what feels like the last hour. Yet He is always on time.

So no matter what your storm is know that God is real and that He is always with us, showering us with His unconditional love, mercy and grace. Don’t focus on your storm, rather meditate on the goodness and safety in God’s promises.
