If you keep a garden of flowers or vegetables you are aware of when to plant certain things. If you plant them too soon they won’t grow at all. If you are planting a vegetable garden you have pretty much planted most of the foods that you will be eating this summer and freezing for the cooler months ahead. If you plant you must be willing to harvest the foods or it will stay in the field too long and you won’t be able to eat it.
As Christians we plant and harvest all the time, even when we don’t realize it. We plant seeds of Christ through our actions and our words. There are many times when we plant but never go back to harvest. We may have a co-worker who is really going through and we take the time to witness to them and share the miracles and faithfulness of God and we never go back and invite them to church or to attend an event in which they can see that our fruits are the same in and out of work. We must take the time to harvest. Harvesting is just as important. Be mindful not to do one without the other.
