Have you thought about what Jesus did for us?

Have you ever thought about just what Jesus did for us? And as a parent just how God felt to allow His only son to be sacrificed for us? The Passion of the Christ was a powerful movie that tried to display just What Jesus endured. You know, one of the biggest outcries against Mel Gibson’s movie, The Passion Of The Christ, was that it was too violent, especially the part where Jesus was scourged.

Let me tell you this: It was not violent enough! The Bible says that at the cross, Jesus’ visage was marred beyond that of any man. (Isaiah 52:14) In the movie, even after all the beatings, the actor James Caviezel, who played Jesus, still looked quite handsome.

But the reality is that when Jesus hung on the cross, He had “no form or comeliness…there is no beauty that we should desire Him”. (Isaiah 53:2) He was beaten to a pulp until His face looked like jelly hanging out!

In the movie, when they scourged Him, only a small portion of His bones was exposed, so it was still quite tidy. But the messianic psalms say, “The plowers plowed on my back; they made their furrows long” (Psalm 129:3), and “I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me”. (Psalm 22:17) All His bones were exposed!

My friend, He was thinking of you when the soldiers tied Him to the scourging post. As they raised their whips, He said, “Let it all come on Me!”

But what came on Him was not just the whip stripping the flesh off His bare back, but your sicknesses and diseases. Each time He was whipped, every form of sickness and disease, including arthritis, cancer, diabetes, bird flu and dengue fever, came upon Him. “The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

Today, healing is your right because Jesus has paid the price for your healing. So if the devil says, “You cannot be healed,” just declare, “Jesus has paid for my healing. Disease has no right to be in my body. I am healed in Jesus’ name!”

Every curse of sickness that was supposed to fall on you fell on Jesus instead. He bore every one of those stripes, so that you can walk in divine health all the days of your life. The price has been paid so that you can rise up and get out of your bed of affliction!

God is real and what Jesus did for us was out of love. Why not trust in Him and believe for what you need since He has already provided it for you.

Expectancy verses Anxiety? How are you waiting?

Did you realize that many think they are waiting in faith with expectancy but they are really living in anxiety?

According to an online dictionary here is the difference between the two words.

Expectancy is defined as the state of thinking or hoping that something, especially something pleasant, will happen or be the case.

Anxiety is defined as a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

Now ask yourself as you are waiting on your breakthrough are you truly expecting a pleasant outcome or are you uneasy everyday and wonder why hasn’t it happened for you it minute by minute?

You see if your trust is truly in God and you truly believe the scripture in which Jesus was talking to His disciples and preparing them for His departure and transformation.  Scripture reads “ whatsoever you ask the Father in my name, He will give it to you. Hither to you have asked nothing in my name. Ask and ye SHALL receive that YOUR JOY may be FULL.

These are the words that Jesus spoke. Do you believe Him or do you think He was only talking about some people and some prayers? Do you really TRUST and believe in His words? His words are life and light unto our path.

You have to examine your heart and mind and be sure your faith is in your heart and not just your mind and that any brief bursts of doubt should be in your mind briefly and never leak into your heart.

You just may find that you are the only catalyst holding up your answered prayers. From this moment on wait on your blessings with expectancy and never anxiety. Believe believe believe in the outcome that will bring you great joy and in which God alone gets total glory!

Expect Rest Receive Rejoice!

Temptation….Yield Not

When most people think of temptation they think of sex or drugs. Most don’t think of sleep as a temptation. But in the book of Matthew when Jesus went up the mountain to pray to God he told his disciples to stay woke and not yield to temptation. Their temptation was giving in to the sweet temptation of sleep. Their eyes were heavy and even though they loved Jesus they gave in to the temptation of sleep.

40Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is Weak.

What is your temptation today? Are you tempted to doubt and give up on God’s promises to you because you are tired of the wait, the struggle and the longing to walk in the promise right now this very moment? I was sent to tell you Yield Not To Temptation. You are days, hours, and minutes closer to your breakthrough if you faint not. So if you are too tired to hold on allow God to hold on to you. Rest in His promises and see things from the lens of faith. For it shall be!

I’m Scarred and I’m Proud

These scars, these scars, they run deep

Why are these burdens with me even when I sleep

Ashamed ashamed so ashamed of these scars that everyone can see

Are my scars the reason you don’t want to love me

If I cover them up will my actions still reveal

Reveal the hurt and shame from damaging years

One day these scars that caused you to dismiss me

Will make me more valuable than diamonds grown in a tree

For my scars bring about a uniqueness laced in strength determination and resilient pride

One day I will boldly expose my scars that I’ve spent my whole life trying to hide

For they made me the mother, the woman, the friend, the daughter, the dreamer that I am today

My scars have so much to say

As a new dawn arises and the sun births a new day full of peace and grace

Im no longer apologizing for my scars, my differences, my deficits, my faults or my tear stained face

Im living my scars out loud

Im screaming “I’m scared and I’m proud!!!
