Saved Like Me

What it means to be saved like me

Some days I’m strong and focused and can walk on water
Other days I’m fighting the devil telling me don’t bother
Don’t bother to believe what will be will be
But my Father promised to ask and receive
Sometimes I fall into sin
I have to ask myself when will this wilderness end
Sometimes my words don’t get sanctified before I speak
I immediately turn to God and seek
Seek His word and His hand
For I know without Him I can’t stand
Sometimes I want to help speed God up for the things I’ve been praying for
Silly me like God needs my help to open that door
Sometimes I complain and forget to be thankful and see the joy
Then there are times when I don’t take the time to put my knees on the floor
This is what it’s like to be saved like me
I don’t cross every t and dot every I
Sometimes when there is a delay from God I cry
I cry out to Him and boldly ask why
Then He whispers with a rushing wind and dries my eye
Sometimes I’m quick to judge others when I know it’s wrong
Sometimes I even catch myself singing the wrong song
Sometimes I neglect to give freely from the heart
Other times I walk wanderlessly in the dark
Then I remember nothing can keep me and Jesus apart
This is what it means to be saved like me
At the end of the day I repent to be forgiven and look forward to another chance
Anxiously awaiting the rising of the sun to continue life’s dance
This is what it means to be saved like me

TODAY

Today take away all boundaries and put the words fear and failure out of your mind and mouth.  Begin your journey towards making your dreams come true.  God gave you the dream for a reason.  Birth it, don’t let it die.  TODAY!

Take away fear

Overcome doubt

Decide to birth your dream

Admit that you are more than a conqueror

You can do this TODAY

As the tears of the Angels fall upon the stars
I know in my heart that heaven can’t be far
As love laces the essence of today
Forcing hate to flee away
God confirms each word he has spoken to me
I have no doubt that thus it shall be
As I prepare myself as in the natural I can see
I won’t allow doubt to touch my destiny
As I rest in the arms of my father with complete assurance
I’m grateful for this chance
For many has fallen along the way
They chose in their hearts in that sad place to stay
As my words take flight with their strong vibrant wings
I’ve learned that what I don’t see is more real than a dream
As the universe welcomes this birth of faith
I’m so glad I am taking hold of this new day
For the rough road traveled by few is really laced in gold
Walk a mile in my shoes and the truth will be told
As the wind blows ever lasting life in my presence and beyond

As….

as the stars dance with the moon and the clouds flirt with the sun

angels in heaven sing a new love song

to not see the beauty in life is just wrong

as the wind performs with the leaves and the rain adds a newness to all it touch

to miss out on living is a bit much

as time continues to fly and never goes in reverse

too many of us are living like this is our moment to rehearse

the curtains are open and stage is set

live like no one is watching, a life without regret

as another dream takes a spot in a desolate place

too many are afraid of what they must face

to seek the ultimate truth should be a driving force from day to day

to understand that energy can’t be formed into any words to say

as the world turns to a precise rhythm in time

all things will be revealed with the renewing of our mind

I’m giving just enough to give me the illusion that I’m free

Free in the eyes of all men and in America, really

In the eyes of some I should still be shackled and forbidden to read

You see with education there came a new black breed and our only purpose is to fulfill their need

In my eyes black is strength, magical, kings and queens

Yet we are still in search of our American dream

I’m held back, pushed down and killed off daily

We march and protest just to say “wait, hold up, what about me”

Just to stop the black people demise

There isn’t anything we haven’t tried

We straighten our hair, some even bleach their skin

It doesn’t matter because on the inside you are still a black man

A black man is threatening even if unarmed

Therefore, any time you see one walking, standing, driving you should be alarmed

By any means necessary get out of harm’s way

That’s why its ok to shoot them all today

This misperception is so unfair

Why does the color of your skin dictate to others if you should care

We are bused out and then back in

They use data from our schools to direct how many jails to begin building

We are slighted, laughed at and used for their entertainment

No one is held accountable, why bother with an arraignment

More and more every day it doesn’t appear that the laws are for us at all

For if we have some trouble who are we to really call

So as we continue our journey and search for our rightful place in this country

We surely won’t get there unless we stand tall by praying on bended knees

For only God to change this movement in our time

Truly we will find freedom and peace with each step we climb

 

 

 

 

Give Us More Life!

How can this be, what is going on

Another brother gone on home

The devil said he came to kill, steal and destroy

And he is doing just what he said to our black boys

Not safe to ride, walk or stand outside a store

You can’t kill us all so what is this really for

What point are you making to the world

That there is no value in black boys or girls

Is our very presence that much of a threat

Are we only tolerated when there is a rope around our neck

If an officer is truly frightened by a race

Is he in the right profession, it’s a disgrace

Tell me when will the bullets stop flying and blood stop flowing

You must see where this entire situation going

A woman cries and screams but she can’t bring him back

We are truly under attack

As others worry about emails being sent

We as a black race are in need of a major movement

This must stop and it must stop now

We have got to fight through this somehow

Another brother gunned down for no reason at all

One more to add to the number, how many more will fall

No justice in today’s society if you have darker skin

How will our boys grown up to be men

Another family home destroyed over some foolery

Now where is the justice, please tell me

This must stop, all lives must be valued once again

Makes no sense for someone’s life in this manner to come to an end

Put away the guns and cut off all hate

These are hard times, we are in a bad state

Voices like thunder and actions stronger than the wind

We must fight and take an unbreakable stand

We are more powerful than they can see

We must take a position and gain back our place in society

A society of freedom, hope, love and the American dream

One in which we are recognized as Kings and Queens

We are valuable and of immeasurable worth

We are a chosen people upon this earth

Stop taking our lives, can’t you see that we matter

Let us live in peace forever after

The Tree

B4 the fall there were no needs
There was freedom of choice represented by two trees…
Made in God’s image we truly had it all
Then a choice was made b4 the fall
Innocence life freedom and love flowed freely
A choice that lead us to sin and death was the undesired outcome for you and me
We allow others to own our thoughts and actions and keep us trapped into a society of norms that over time takes us from our true calling and therefore we become enslaved to a boxed attitude
An attitude that tells us there are boundaries and limits and impossibilities for the multitude
We replace our birthright of powers and prosperities
With shackles shame and unmet needs
Our minds are trained to over rule our hearts which makes it hard to control our flesh
We wander in desert after desert and retake test after test
We were born free powerful in love yet into sin
We were born loving trusting and not knowing someday this life we transitioned into would end
As man continues to make earth as he feel it should be
We are again reminded of the tree
The joy and everlasting life b4 the fall
What beauty in a just life for all
As we struggle to regain the knowledge the real truth exposed to us before we began this journey
We find ourselves engulfed in doubt and worry
We are confined to time created by man for in God time is nonexistent
God is not confined by any restraint
So if we are made perfect in His image why do we run through life and at times surely faint
We are not shackled or bound for God set us free
B4 the fall this was crystal clear to you and me
It’s time we respect every living thing and take our rightful place
Because at the end of this journey we will surely see His face
So lift up your brother and sister and don’t allow man to procreate things in your mind
You are free forever for we are a part of the divine
This is just a reminder after all
You were aware of this way b4 the fall
